Crystallum is a game that I worked on for my Junior Collaboration module in Level 5 of my University course. This module required us to work in teams of 20+ people, spanning Levels 5 and 6, to create a game within the 6 week time period provided. I had initially joined the team as a designer, however, after finding out we were short on coders, I volunteered to switch my role.
While working on Crystallum, I focused on using Unreal's blueprint to create mechanics planned and provided to me by the design team. This ranged from simple mechanics such as an interaction system, to more complicated mechanics such as AI. Many of the mechanics I created were cut from the final game due to down scoping, however I have included videos of these mechanics in the playlist linked down below anyway.
Working on this game was a great experience as it simulated what working in the industry would be like. It has helped prepare me for the future and look forward to working in a team, as it allows people to focus on their strengths and lend a helping hand if needed.
